Lead Process Engineer
Own the end-to-end ammonia and methanol cracking process, from feed to engine-grade hydrogen, including process models, equipment specifications, and vendor-ready design.

- Define the complete process chain across vaporization, preheating, cracking, heat recovery, slip mitigation, drying, filtration, compression, and buffering.
- Build mass and energy balances and steady-state process models in Aspen or HYSYS; Python or spreadsheet-based models are also applicable.
- Specify product-gas targets including hydrogen purity, ammonia slip, dew point, turndown, ramp rates, and operating envelopes.
- Author equipment specifications for reactors, heaters, heat exchangers, separators, scrubbers or adsorbers, compressors, valves, and instrumentation.
- Develop PFDs and P&IDs, maintain process datasheets and instrument lists, and define utility loads.
- Lead vendor RFQs, evaluate technical bids, and support sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Safety on integrated design, HAZID or HAZOP work, and commissioning readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
- At least three years of process or chemical engineering experience, ideally with high-temperature gas systems.
- Hands-on experience with catalyst reactors, furnaces or heaters, and gas-cleanup technologies.
- Ability to translate process requirements into vendor-ready equipment datasheets.
- Experience producing PFDs, P&IDs, and process documentation.
- Clear technical communication and comfort working cross-functionally and on site.
